It has a huge bin and an auto-empty that is quiet. Its obstacle-avoiding capabilities are getting caught in socks and cords and dirt near baseboards.
iRobot Roomba 694
The Roomba 694 robot vacuum is an entry level robot vacuum that utilizes dual roller brushes (one bristle and one rubber) to pick up dust, dirt and other debris from floors that are not covered. The Roomba 694 has a rotating brush that can remove debris from the corners and walls edges. The Roomba 694 does a good job of removing pet hair. However, it could leave some hairs in the carpet fibers after multiple cleaning cycles.
The 694 does a good job at maneuvering itself and isn't a problem to maneuver around obstacles such as cords or furniture. It doesn't come with advanced obstacle-avoidance systems, and the battery can drain before it returns to dock.
This is a good choice if you're looking for a basic robot cleaner that's easy to use. You can manually control it using the 'Clean "Dock," and the 'Spot Clean' button on the top of its cover or using voice commands that are relayed to your preferred voice assistant. It is compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant and can also follow Siri commands using iOS Shortcuts.
You can also control the Roomba 694 remotely from anywhere by downloading the iRobot Home app on your smartphone or tablet. The app lets you create customized cleaning schedules, and also monitor the robot's status. The app can be used to cancel a cleaning task in progress, if needed. The iRobot app can also issue error alerts if the robot encounters problems like if it is pushed into a furniture crevice.
While the Roomba 694 does a great job of navigating itself around the house, it is not designed to be used on narrow paths or stairs. It doesn't do a great job of vacuuming carpets with low piles, leaving behind many hair clumps and tufts. You may want to choose a different robot vacuum when you have flooring that is low-pile in your home.

The Roomba 960 is one of the most advanced robot vacuums manufactured by iRobot. This is an excellent choice for those looking to purchase a high-tech robot vacuum with WiFi connectivity and excellent cleaning capabilities.

The 960 requires some care. This includes regular replacement of the dust bin, filter and spinning brush. iRobot Roomba 980
The Roomba 980 is the most advanced robotic vacuum in the current lineup of iRobot's. The Roomba 980's comprehensive suite of navigation sensors allow it to navigate under and around furniture, and along edges. Cliff Detect helps to prevent it from falling down the stairs. It may take a long time for the Roomba app to recognize the need for. This is a frustrating issue for an appliance that is so heavily dependent on its smart controls, and it seems particularly unjust given that the 980 is expensive.
