Robot Vacuum Reviews

While robot vacuums reduce the need for regular, thorough sweeping, they aren't able to substitute for traditional plug-in models. To keep them in good shape, empty the dust bins after each cleaning session. Clean the sensors and camera periodically.  auto vacuum  and side brushes as required.

It has a huge bin and an auto-empty that is quiet. Its obstacle-avoiding capabilities are getting caught in socks and cords and dirt near baseboards.

iRobot Roomba 694

The Roomba 694 robot vacuum is an entry level robot vacuum that utilizes dual roller brushes (one bristle and one rubber) to pick up dust, dirt and other debris from floors that are not covered. The Roomba 694 has a rotating brush that can remove debris from the corners and walls edges. The Roomba 694 does a good job of removing pet hair. However, it could leave some hairs in the carpet fibers after multiple cleaning cycles.

The 694 does a good job at maneuvering itself and isn't a problem to maneuver around obstacles such as cords or furniture. It doesn't come with advanced obstacle-avoidance systems, and the battery can drain before it returns to dock.

This is a good choice if you're looking for a basic robot cleaner that's easy to use. You can manually control it using the 'Clean "Dock," and  the 'Spot Clean' button on the top of its cover or using voice commands that are relayed to your preferred voice assistant. It is compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant and can also follow Siri commands using iOS Shortcuts.

You can also control the Roomba 694 remotely from anywhere by downloading the iRobot Home app on your smartphone or tablet. The app lets you create customized cleaning schedules, and also monitor the robot's status. The app can be used to cancel a cleaning task in progress, if needed. The iRobot app can also issue error alerts if the robot encounters problems like if it is pushed into a furniture crevice.

While the Roomba 694 does a great job of navigating itself around the house, it is not designed to be used on narrow paths or stairs. It doesn't do a great job of vacuuming carpets with low piles, leaving behind many hair clumps and tufts. You may want to choose a different robot vacuum when you have flooring that is low-pile in your home.

In contrast to the Roomba S9, which features an onboard HEPA filter, this model does not have an automatic bin for emptying. Its internal dirt compartment is not large however, you'll have empty it at the end of every cleaning session. The iRobot Home app lets you review the history of the cleaning tasks that Roomba has completed, including their time and date, when they were initiated (app or scheduling, or with the physical buttons on the robot), their duration, and their completed status.

The iRobot 694 is superior to the Coredy R550 because it feels more solidly constructed, has lower annual costs and comes with a larger dust bin, charges faster, maneuvers over obstacles such as electrical cords without difficulty, and performs better on bare floors and high-pile carpet. The software that it comes with offers a range of more sophisticated automation features. The Roomba 694 doesn't match the Shark IQ robotic vacuum, however, as it has a much bigger dirt compartment and lasts longer on charge, and has physical boundary strips to ensure it stays out of certain rooms.

Roomba 960 from iRobot

The Roomba 960 is one of the most advanced robot vacuums manufactured by iRobot. It has several features that distinguish it from other models, including advanced dirt detection and a map-saving technology. It has an impressive vacuum system that is compatible with Alexa. This is an excellent choice for those looking to purchase a high-tech robot vacuum with WiFi connectivity and excellent cleaning capabilities.

The 960 is a circular robotic equipped with two brushrolls made of rubber and three caster wheels to ensure stability. It weighs 3.9kg which makes it easy to move up and down steps. You can purchase it with or without docking systems based on the features you prefer. The docking station is important to keep the Roomba running and plugged in when it is not working. The docking station is a practical and simple way to keep your robot tidy and fully powered when it's not.

iRobot designed 960 to work on carpet and bare floors. Its performance is exceptional on hard surfaces, and it's able to easily remove pet hair. It is also adept at picking up large debris like cat litter and cereal. It doesn't perform as well on carpets with a high pile, however. It is able to pick up pet hair, as well as larger particles. But it struggles with smaller particles, like sand. Some sand gets stuck between the brushes and dirt compartment.

In a test with the oats of quaker the 960 performed admirably in capturing the majority of the powder that was scattered. The robot vacuum is able to move through obstacles and furniture. Its circular design allows it to be placed under chair legs. The 960 is Alexa compatible and can be controlled with voice commands. It can be programmed to return automatically to its charging station.

The 960 requires some care. This includes regular replacement of the dust bin, filter and spinning brush. These components should be replaced every couple of months to ensure they are in good working order. It is also recommended to clean the dirt compartment sensors regularly. Keeping these components in good shape will keep the Roomba running at peak performance and will allow it to last longer.

The 960 has a few issues, but overall it is an excellent robotic vacuum. It's expensive, but it is worth the investment if you are looking for a vacuum with exceptional cleaning performance. It is also packed with features that make it an ideal alternative for busy individuals. The iRobot App is simple to use and Roomba's schedule for cleaning can be set. It is available in a variety of finishes and colors so you can make it a part of your decor.

iRobot Roomba 980

The Roomba 980 is the most advanced robotic vacuum in the current lineup of iRobot's. The Roomba 980's comprehensive suite of navigation sensors allow it to navigate under and around furniture, and along edges. Cliff Detect helps to prevent it from falling down the stairs. Its multi-surface rubber brushes let dirt slide off and collect it from any floor type and then swells debris into the suction channel.

iRobot's vSLAM captures the surrounding environment as it moves. It creates visual landmarks that assist in keeping track of its position and avoid bumping against walls and other objects. The camera is also able to detect areas with dirtier surfaces. This triggers the Roomba to automatically increase the suction power of the room, and move over these zones several times before moving on.

Users can create digital Keep Out zones to prevent the Roomba from entering areas of the home they do not want it to access. This feature was added to the app in October, 2019. This feature is a welcome addition to the already robust set of features on the Roomba 980, and should prove to be a useful tool for many consumers.

After a two-hour cleaning session, the Roomba 980 automatically returns to its docking station to recharge. This is the only robot in its class that comes with this feature. It allows you to let your robot work while you are away for extended durations. Remote control capabilities in the app allows you to start cleaning, stop and schedule sessions from anywhere in the world.

The Roomba App is simple to use and intuitive. The main screen is adorned with an enormous clean button that is activated with a single tap and the bottom row of icons provides quick access to settings like cleaning preferences, a weekly schedule, and much more. The app can be linked to your smart assistant and make voice commands.

It may take a long time for the Roomba app to recognize the need for. This is a frustrating issue for an appliance that is so heavily dependent on its smart controls, and it seems particularly unjust given that the 980 is expensive.

The Roomba 980, iRobot’s flagship model is a powerful piece of equipment. Its powerful cleaning capabilities and long battery life of up to two hours, and intelligent features make it one of the top robot vacuums available. It's less versatile than other models because it doesn't have an app specifically designed for it and remote control. The 980 is still a great alternative for anyone looking for a high-powered automated vacuum that can take the burden off of itself. Be prepared to spend an extra amount.
